gandhaṃ gandharvanāthāya jihvāṃ bhṛṅgāya pakṣiṇaḥ /
mṛgāya padmaparṇāni(3) yāmyāmityaṣṭadevatāḥ(4) //
perfume to the lord of Gandharvas, the tongue of a bird to Bhṛṅga, / and lotus petals to Mṛga. Thus are the eight deities in the south.
