nakārārūḍhamūlena kumbhe 'smin dhārayecchilāṃ /
kumbhānaṣṭau sabhadrādīn dikṣu pūrvādiṣu kramāt //
With the root-mantra resting on the syllable Na, one should hold the stone upon this jar; / [and one should place] eight jars, Subhadra and the others, in the directions beginning with the east in order.
