320.1

The Lord said: / The sacrifice to weapons should be performed first; it grants success in all rites. / In the center, the weapon of Śiva or others is to be worshipped, and the vajra and others in the east in sequence.

320.2

Having five wheels and ten arms, worshipped in battle and the like, it brings victory. / In the worship of planets, the Sun is in the center, the Moon and others beginning in the east.

320.3

All planets become placed in the eleventh house by worship of the planets. / I shall declare the pacification by the weapon, which destroys all portents,

320.4

calms planetary afflictions, illnesses, and the like, and crushes plagues and enemies. / A man should recite the Aghorāstra [mantra], which removes torment caused by Vināyakas.

320.5

One hundred thousand [recitations] bring destruction of planetary evils; at a portent, there should be an oblation of sesame. / For a celestial [portent], one hundred thousand; by half of that, destruction of portents born of the sky.

320.6

With one hundred thousand drops of clarified butter, it is beneficial in an earth-born portent. / And in an oblation of clarified butter and guggulu, there is destruction of all portents and the like.

320.7

By a fire oblation of dūrvā grass, unbroken grain, and clarified butter, diseases [are destroyed]; moreover, with clarified butter, / by a thousand [oblations], bad dreams are destroyed without doubt.

320.8

From ten thousand [oblations] of clarified butter mixed with hibiscus, it destroys planetary afflictions; / and with ten thousand of clarified butter, it pacifies distress caused by Vināyaka.

320.9

Pacification of spirits and vetālas occurs with ten thousand of bdellium; / and when a great tree breaks, or when a snake or crow is stationed in the house,

320.10

or when wild animals enter, [auspiciousness arises] from offering dūrvā grass, clarified butter, and unbroken grain into the fire; / at the fall of a meteor or an earthquake, peace comes from oblations of sesame and clarified butter.

320.11

When trees bleed sap, peace comes from ten thousand [oblations] of bdellium; / at the unseasonable [blooming of] fruits and flowers, the ruin of a realm, and pestilence,

320.12

when there is a plague among bipeds and the like, [it is averted] by fifty thousand [oblations] of sesame and clarified butter; / for the pacification of an elephant epidemic, when a female elephant grows tusks,

320.13

and when rut is seen in a cow elephant, pacification is sought from ten thousand [oblations]; / and in unseasonable miscarriage, or where the newborn dies,

320.14

or where deformed offspring are born, or at the time of a military expedition, one should offer ten thousand [oblations]; / but a fire oblation of one hundred thousand with sesame and clarified butter is for the attainment of the highest success.

320.15

In middling [success], [it is attained] by half of that; and in inferior [successes], by a quarter of that. / As the recitation is, so is the fire oblation; victory in battle will arise; / having performed the ritual deposition and meditated on the five-faced, powerful [Śiva], one should recite the Aghorāstra.
