iti gopya iti | ity evaṃ prabhṛti | citradhā anekadhā susvaram uccaiḥ kṛṣṇadarśane lālasātispṛhā yāsāṃ tāḥ ||
'Thus the gopīs': thus, and so forth. In manifold ways: in many ways. Aloud: loudly. Passionately longing: they whose intense desire was for the sight of Kṛṣṇa.
