1.17.19

kecidvikalpavasanā āhurātmānam ātmanaḥ /
daivam anye 'pare karma svabhāvam apare prabhum //

19. * Some who hide (deny) difference, say that self is the lord of self (i.e. capable of bringing about its own pleasures and pains), others say that it is some deity or Providence; some other thinkers say that it is Karma; and some others still say that it is nature that is so powerful.
