ekadā dhanurudyamya vicaran mṛgayāṃ vane /
mṛgān anugataḥ śrāntaḥ kṣudhitastṛṣito bhṛśam //

24. Once, stringing his bow, Parikshit went ahunting to the forest, and running after the game he became fatigued and intensely hungry and thirsty;
