Bhagavatapurana 1.18.31

1.18.31

eṣa kiṃ nibhṛtāśeṣa karaṇo mīlitekṣaṇaḥ /
mṛṣāsamādhirāhosvit kiṃ nu syāt kṣatrabandhubhiḥ //

31. For (the king was not sure) whether the Brahman was really one that had controlled his mind and other organs, and had his eyes closed (in meditation), or whether he only pretended meditation thinking that he had nothing to expect from the wretched Kshatriyas.
