Bhagavatapurana 1.18.50

1.18.50

prāyaśaḥ sādhavo loke parairdvandveṣu yojitāḥ /
na vyathanti na hṛṣyanti yata ātmāguṇāśrayaḥ //

50. In this world it is only through other people that the righteous are mostly brought into contact with the pairs of pleasure and pain, but they feel neither grieved nor delighted, for the self is not the abode of Guṇas (that is, pleasure, pain and other states).
