iti sma rājādhyavasāyayuktaḥ prācīnamūleṣu kuśeṣu dhīraḥ /
udaṅmukho dakṣiṇakūla āste samudrapatnyāḥ svasutanyastabhāraḥ //

17. Having thus made up his mind and shifted the burden of sovereignty on to (the shoulders of) his son, the brave king sat down on the southern bank of Ganga, on the Darbha grass, the ends of which were turned to the east, himself facing the north.
