ucchiṣṭalepān anumodito dvijaiḥ sakṛt sma bhuñje tadapāstakilbiṣaḥ /
evaṃ pravṛttasya viśuddhacetasas taddharma evātmaruciḥ prajāyate //

25. Permitted by those Brahmans I once ate what was left in the plates out of which they had partaken, and thereby I became cleansed of all sins. For having thus (served them) and gained purity of mind, I conceived a taste for their virtuous ways.
