evaṃ vimṛśya taṃ pāpaṃ yāvad-ātmani-darśanam /
pūjayām āsa vai śaurir bahu-māna-puraḥsaram //
52. Having thus well considered to the best of his intellectual powers, Vasudeva, with great esteem, honoured that wicked person. 53. Putting on a cheerful countenance he (Vasudeva) with a heart full of pain, spoke smilingly to the relentless ruffian thus:
