katham antar-jale 'gādhe nyagṛhṇād bhagavān ahim /
sa vai bahu-yugāvāsaṃ yathāsīd vipra kathyatām //
2. The king said:—How under that deep water the worshipful Lord caught hold of the serpent and how indeed that serpent managed to live in water for many ages, O wise brahmin, be pleased to tell me!
