viṣa-vīrya-madāviṣṭaḥ kādraveyas tu kāliyaḥ /
kadarthī-kṛtya garuḍaṃ svayaṃ taṃ bubhuje balim //
4. But Kaleeya, the son of Kadru, grew proud of his strength and poison, lost his good sense and, despising Garuda, himself ate up the prey (offering) intended for Suparna.
