āste pratīkṣaṃs taj-janma harer vairānubandha-kṛt //
23. Having thus within himself reasoned, the powerful Kamsa desisted of his own accord from the cruel purpose of killing her: but cherishing his feeling of hatred he remained awaiting the birth of Hari.
