rāsotsavaḥ sampravṛtto gopī-maṇḍala-maṇḍitaḥ /
yogeśvareṇa kṛṣṇena tāsāṃ madhye dvayor dvayoḥ /
praviṣṭena gṛhītānāṃ kaṇṭhe sva-nikaṭaṃ striyaḥ //
The festival of the rāsa began, adorned by the circle of gopīs, / with Kṛṣṇa, the master of yoga, entering between every two of them, / holding those women close to himself by the neck,
