/0 śrī-śuka uvāca
nandas tv ātmaja utpanne jātāhlādo mahā-manāḥ /
āhūya viprān veda-jñān snātaḥ śucir alaṅkṛtaḥ //

1. & 2. Śri Suka said:—The noble-minded Nanda was rejoiced at the birth of a son, invited brahmins and astrologers, bathed, cleansed, adorned himself, made them repeat auspicious vedic texts and pronounce their blessings and duly performed the jata karma to his son as well as the worship of pitris and the gods.
