dāsye duhitaraṃ tasmai strī-ratnaṃ ratnam eva ca /
upāyo 'yaṃ samīcīnas tasya śāntir na cānyathā //
42. “I shall give Him my daughter, the best jewel among women and that Jewel as well: this is the best expedient; there is no other course of expiation for it (my sin).”
