kati tattvāni viśveśa saṅkhyātāny ṛṣibhiḥ prabho /
navaikādaśa pañca trīṇy āttha tvam iha śuśruma //

1. Uddhava said:—O Lord of the Universe, how many are the fundamental principles enumerated by Rishis: here in a previous chapter we heard Thee say that they are nine, eleven, five and three.
