itihāsam imaṃ puṇyaṃ dhārayed yaḥ samāhitaḥ /
sa vidhūyeha śamalaṃ brahma-bhūyāya kalpate //
52. He who attentively commits this hallowed account to memory would shake off his sin here and fit himself to attain to the state of Brahman.
