kṣayaṃ yāsyanti śanakaiḥ kālenopadrutāḥ prajāḥ /
sāmudraṃ daihikaṃ bhaumaṃ rasaṃ sāṃvartako raviḥ //
8. Thus harassed by the force of Time, creatures gradaully perish; the sun at the time of deluge drinks up all moisture of the sea, from the earth and the body by means of his fearful rays and does not allow any drop to escape.
