adhītavān dvāparādau piturdvaipāyanādaham //
8. This Purana, which is well-known as the Bhagavata (taught by the Supreme Lord), and which is as sacred as the Vedas, I studied under my father Dwaipayana in the beginning of the Dwapara [10) Yuga.
