mukhatastālu nirbhinnaṃjihvā tatropajāyate /
tato nānāraso jajñe jihvayā yo 'dhigamyate //
18. From the mouth the palate became a distinct member in it and the tongue also was produced there; thereupon different kinds of taste were produced, which are enjoyed (reached) by the tongue.
