yajñaṃ yajedyaśaskāmaḥ kośakāmaḥ pracetasam /
vidyākāmastu giriśaṃ dāmpatyārtha umāṃ satīm //
(7) He who thirsts after celebrity should worship Vishnu under the name of yagna by means of sacrifices, he who thirsts after (rich) treasures should worship Prachetas (Varunas), he who wishes to be a learned man should worship Girisa (the god Siva), he who longs for the blessing of (a happy) married life should worship the chaste Uma (Parvati).
