mahīṃ pratiṣṭhām adhyasya saute svāyambhuvo manuḥ /
kāny anvatiṣṭhad dvārāṇi mārgāyāvara-janmanām //

Saunaka said :—O son of Suta, after obtaining the earth for his seat, what ways (openings) did Swayambhuva Manu find for bringing forth the beings of later birth (of beings that lay withdrawn into Iswara.)
