ta ātma-sargaṃ taṃ kāyaṃ pitaraḥ pratipedire /
sādhyebhyaś ca pitṛbhyaś ca kavayo yad vitanvate //
43. The Pitris resorted to that body from which they were created and by means of which wise men offer to the Saddhyas and the Pitris (the portions due to them of Havya and Kavya, *i.e.*, of offerings in sacrifices and other religious ceremonies.)
