3.26.10

/0 śrī-bhagavān uvāca
yat tat tri-guṇam avyaktaṃ nityaṃ sad-asad-ātmakam /
pradhānaṃ prakṛtiṃ prāhur aviśeṣaṃ viśeṣavat //

Verse 10. अव्यक्तं *V.* That was not in a fit state *i.e.* too subtle, to be spoken of by name and form. विशेषवत् having differenciated forms as earth, water and so on. सदसदात्मक *V.* existing in the form of Mahat and other products of matter and also as the bodies of creatures from Brahma down to a clump *i. e.* in the form of cause and effect *D.* *Note.*—The terms denoting Prakriti and its several products must be taken as denoting also the deities presiding over them.
