yathā gandhasya bhūmeś ca na bhāvo vyatirekataḥ /
apāṃ rasasya ca yathā tathā buddheḥ parasya ca //
18. Just as smell and the substance, or water and taste cannot exist apart, so also Prakriti and Purusha cannot (be conceived to exist separately) from each other.
