/0 śrī-bhagavān uvāca
karmaṇā daiva-netreṇa jantur dehopapattaye /
striyāḥ praviṣṭa udaraṃ puṃso retaḥ-kaṇāśrayaḥ //
1. The Lord said:—By force of (previous) Karma which is under the direction of the Deity, the jīva conveyed by the seed of a man enters into the womb of a woman so that his gross body may be formed.
