/0 uddhava uvāca
atha te tad-anujñātā bhuktvā pītvā ca vāruṇīm /
tayā vibhraṃśita-jñānā duruktair marma paspṛśuḥ //

1. Uddhava said:—Then with their (Brahman's) permission they ate and (also) drank Varuni, and having thereby lost their sober sense, cut one another to the quick with very vile words.
