iti vyavasitā viprās tasya rājñaḥ prajātaye /
puroḍāśaṃ niravapan śipi-viṣṭāya viṣṇave //
35. The wise Brāhmanas thus came to a conclusion and for the sake of securing the king an issue they offered *Purodāśa* to Vishnu the Supreme Deity to whom all sacrifices are dedicated.
