taṃ vicakṣya khalaṃ putraṃ śāsanair vividhair nṛpaḥ /
yadā na śāsituṃ kalpo bhṛśam āsīt sudurmanāḥ //
42. When, after trying various punishments to rectify this wicked son, the king found himself incapable to rule him, he was sorely depressed in spirits.
