dehinām ātmavat-preṣṭhaḥ suhṛdāṃ nandi-vardhanaḥ /
mukta-saṅga-prasaṅgo 'yaṃ daṇḍa-pāṇir asādhuṣu //

18. Of all creatures he was beloved like their own soul and he contributed (much) to increase the joys of his friends.
