vatsena pitaro 'ryamṇā kavyaṃ kṣīram adhukṣata /
āma-pātre mahā-bhāgāḥ śraddhayā śrāddha-devatāḥ //
18. The venerable Pitris, the deities presiding over solemnities, with Aryman for the calf, piously drew the milk into an unbaked earthen vessel and it became Kavya *i.e.*, the food of the Pitris.
