purā sṛṣṭā hy oṣadhayo brahmaṇā yā viśāmpate /
bhujyamānā mayā dṛṣṭā asadbhir adhṛta-vrataiḥ //
6. O lord of men, the plants and herbs at first produced by Brahma were, it was observed by me, being consumed by wicked creatures who were destitute of pious observances.
