tasyaivaṃ vadataḥ śāpaṃ śrutvā dvija-kulāya vai /
bhṛguḥ pratyasṛjac chāpaṃ brahma-daṇḍaṃ duratyayam //
27. Hearing the curse thus pronounced by Nandin upon the Brāhmin class, the sage Bhrigu pronounced a counter-curse which is an irrevocable punishment inflicted by the Brāhmin power.
