titikṣur yata-vāg dānta ūrdhva-retā jitānilaḥ /
ārirādhayiṣuḥ kṛṣṇam acarat tapa uttamam //
7. He was full of endurance, controlled his tongue, senses and organs, kept celibacy, conquered the vital breaths and performed the hardest *Tapas* in order to please (the blessed Lord) Krishna.
