paramo 'nugraho daṇḍo bhṛtyeṣu prabhuṇārpitaḥ /
bālo na veda tat tanvi bandhu-kṛtyam amarṣaṇaḥ //

22. The punishment inflicted by a lord on his servants is the supreme grace shown unto them; O beauty! a young man being impatient cannot understand that to be a friendly service done by his elders.
