anyathā karma kurvāṇo mānārūḍho nibadhyate /
guṇa-pravāha-patito naṣṭa-prajño vrajaty adhaḥ //
8. But he who does otherwise (in violation of the restriction), possessed with pride, remains in bondage; and, having fallen into the current of the three gunas, he loses wisdom and goes down afflicted.
