īje ca kratubhir ghorair dīkṣitaḥ paśu-mārakaiḥ /
devān pitṝn bhūta-patīn nānā-kāmo yathā bhavān //
11. Like yourself, through various desires he consecrated himself as a sacrificer and performed sacrifices horrible by the slaughter of animals propitiating the gods, Pitris and the great demons.
