na śeke so 'vituṃ tatra puru-kṛcchroru-vepathuḥ /
gantum aicchat tato vṛkṣa- koṭarād iva sānalāt //

14. In very many painful conditions and shivering very violently he was unable (to stay) there to protect it; then he was eager to get out (like the serpent) from the hollow of a tree set on fire.
