yathā yathā vikriyate guṇākto vikaroti vā /
tathā tathopadraṣṭātmā tad-vṛttīr anukāryate //
17. According as he who is beset by gunas is changed or as he modifies the senses, the witnessing Atman is made to feel as if he were directly affected by those changes.
