athātmano 'rtha-bhūtasya yato 'nartha-paramparā /
saṃsṛtis tad-vyavacchedo bhaktyā paramayā gurau //

36. The eradication of that (ignorance or Manas) which is the source of Samsara, (the chain of miseries) to Atman, who is a real existence is possible by means of perfect devotion to the preceptor.
