Bhagavatapurana 4.29.61

4.29.61

śayānam imam utsṛjya śvasantaṃ puruṣo yathā /
karmātmany āhitaṃ bhuṅkte tādṛśenetareṇa vā //

61. Just as the Jīva leaving (forgetting) this living body in sleep undergoes the experience of Karma registered in the mind, so he does with another body similar (to the one previously occupied) or of a different kind (as of a beast etc.).
