/0 maitreya uvāca
bhavo bhavānyā nidhanaṃ prajāpater asat-kṛtāyā avagamya nāradāt /
sva-pārṣada-sainyaṃ ca tad-adhvararbhubhir vidrāvitaṃ krodham apāram ādadhe //

1. Maitreya said:—On hearing from Nārada of Pārvati's death on account of Daksha the Prajapati's neglect of her and of the routing of the host of his followers by the Ribhus in that sacrifice, Śiva was filled with anger which knew no bounds.
