38. The course marked off as Nivritti was described in detail at the very outset. Only of this extent is the egg of the Universe. It is spoken of in the Puranas as divided into fourteen regions. It is the gross form constituted of the qualities of Maya of Atman and it is the gross form of the glorious Supreme Being Narayana. He who full of faith and devotion and possessed of pure understanding earnestly reads, listens to or gets others to listen to, this description attains the power of knowing the praise-worthy attributes of Paramatman, though otherwise beyond the range of thought.
