kuśa-kusuma-samit-palāśa-phala-mūlodakāny āhariṣyamāṇo vṛkasālā-vṛkādibhyo bhayam āśaṃsamāno yadā saha hariṇa-kuṇakena vanaṃ samāviśati //

12. When he had to get kuśa grass, flowers, sacrificial sticks, leaves, fruits, roots or water, he went to the woods along with the young deer as he expected danger to it from wolves, wild dogs and other beasts.
