etairadharmo vijñātaḥ sthānaṃ daṇḍasya yujyate /
sarve karmānurodhena daṇḍamarhanti kāriṇaḥ //
43. Unrighteousness is witnessed by these and it becomes a fit reason for inflicting punishment; all that are engaged in doing it suffer punishment according to the character of their action.
