lokāḥ sapālā yasyeme śvasanti vivaśā vaśe /
dvijā iva śicā baddhāḥ sa kāla iha kāraṇam //
8. The cause of victory and defeat is that Lord who is in the form of Time, under whose control these worlds and their protectors live (breathe) and act in spite of their will, like birds caught in a net.
