6.18.40

ko 'tikramo 'nuvartantyāḥ svabhāvamiha yoṣitaḥ /
dhiṅ māṃ batābudhaṃ svārthe yadahaṃ tvajitendriyaḥ //

39. Alas! to-day I, given to the gratification of the senses, and under the deluding power in the form of a woman, having played with my mind and heart into her hands, I have proved myself to be wanting in sense; I shall certainly fall into hell. 40. How is it a fault or violation on the part of the woman who simply follows her nature? fie upon me, unwise in my own good; for without control over my senses I acted in this respect.
