yathāgadaṃ vīryatamamupayuktaṃ yadṛcchayā /
ajānato 'py ātmaguṇaṃ kuryān mantro 'py udāhṛtaḥ //
19. Just as a powerful medicine taken by chance would do the man, though ignorant of its virtue, the good which it can, so also a mantra that is uttered operates for his good.
